The appearance of the construction sites has changed considerably in recent weeks. Even though the sheet piling boxes have not yet been completed on all three locks, work has already begun on removing the top two meters of the lock chambers and heads as well as the lower main bridges in Ruhlsdorf and Leesenbrück. Only when the upper part has been removed can the installation of the excavation pit reinforcement begin so that the sheet pile walls do not tip into the excavation pit later due to the earth pressure.
