Door installation Heegermühle

All four gates at the Heegermühle lock were installed this week in beautiful spring weather. The difference in size between the upper and lower main gates is particularly impressive. With a lifting height of 2.6 meters, the lock is in the middle of the twelve Finow Canal locks. The Ruhlsdorf lock has the lowest lifting height with a difference in height of 1.85 meters, the highest is the Kupferhammer lock (4 m) in the second set of locks.

In addition, the sheet piling in the upper outer harbor in Heegermühle will also be burned off under water by divers this week. This makes the Heegermühle lock the first lock in the first lock package where the water in the Finowkanal is back up to the inspection closure. This is mainly due to the limited space available and the resulting changes to the construction process. Outstanding work must now be carried out without bypassing the lock.
