The first section of the Finowkanal, the Lange Trödel, already has a control center for controlling the three movable bridges on the Lange Trödel and for controlling the Zerpenschleuse lock. In future, the locks on the Finowkanal, which have undergone major repairs, will also be monitored from the control center. This has been converted and prepared for this outside of the lock season in recent months. Thanks to the modular design, this was possible without any problems, so that the trial operation was also successful today.
The extension will be used to monitor lock operations on the Finowkanal in the future. After a transitional phase, operation will then be carried out by the Zweckverband Region Finowkanal from the 2026 season.
