Following completion of the concrete work for the lock floor, the gate circulation channels in Ruhlsdorf were shuttered with glass fiber reinforced plastic pipes (GRP). At the same time, the detailed shuttering of the northern chamber walls was carried out, a demanding and time-consuming task. Special negative formwork for masonry offsets had to be produced and various prefabricated parts, such as ladders and handholds, had to be integrated. The reinforcement is then installed before the chamber walls can be concreted in several sections.
