The base of the lock is currently being concreted in the excavation pit at Heegermühle. After the reinforcement workers have tirelessly laid a mesh of steel, the second concreting section can now follow. A further section will then be poured so that the lock floor will soon be completely finished.
At the same time, a crane was erected on the already concreted area inside the lock – a new approach for this project in order to make optimum use of the limited space available. The crane is needed for numerous upcoming tasks and will therefore remain in the lock for several months.
