Since March, construction work has been in full swing at the western sites in Ruhlsdorf, Leesenbrück and Grafenbrück. The preparatory work has been completed and large drilling rigs are currently being used on the construction sites. These machines are used to carry out so-called loosening and replacement drillings in order to loosen the subsoil and remove obstacles for the construction pit enclosure. In Ruhlsdorf, around 400 such replacement drillings are carried out and backfilled with fresh sand. This is a prerequisite for low-vibration installation of the sheet piling panels using the vibration method in order to prevent damage to adjacent buildings.
Despite this procedure, it is currently very loud on the construction site. However, noise emissions are continuously measured and monitored.
