The old underwater lock chambers at the Ruhlsdorf, Leesenbrück and Grafenbrück locks are now being demolished in late fall. This means that the lock chamber is partially filled with water and the excavated material must be removed from the lock chamber. In Ruhlsdorf, the dredging was made more difficult by the fact that large boulders were found in the bed area, which proved to be very difficult to remove.
