Kaiser-Friedrich Observation Tower

The historical castle hill with its Kaiser-Friedrich viewing tower is only about 400 metres from the centre of Biesenthal, the market square of the nature park town.

The castle hill of Biesenthal features a magnificent viewing tower, the Kaiser-Friedrich tower, which was built in 1907. It affords stunning panoramic views. In 2014, the tower and the castle hill area were extensively renovated. This historical place, the origin of Biesenthal, has information panels and activities for children.

The Ascanians built a castle here in the 13th century, and the remains of its foundation walls can still be seen today.
