Liebenwalde lock is located at kilometre 45.30 of the Upper Havel waterway near Liebenwalde in the Oberhavel district of Brandenburg. The section of the Upper Havel Waterway that branches off northwards from the Havel-Oder Waterway to Voß Canal at kilometre 40.50 is called the Malzer Canal, officially abbreviated to MzK.
