Please note: Due to ongoing restoration work on the locks of the Finowkanal, there are long-term restrictions on the waterway. Ruhlsdorf Lock is currently closed. It is not possible to carry a canoes around the lock. Ruhlsdorf Lock is the western entrance lock to the Finowkanal. The lock was formerly operated by hand and is one of twelve locks on the Finowkanal. Today it is automated, meaning it is operated by the user themselves. At the upper and lower sections of the lock, there are waiting areas for paddlers and boats. A small rest area invites visitors to pause, and a limited number of parking spaces is available. The path to carry a paddle boat around teh lock sit approximately 240 metres long.
