Please note: Due to construction work along the Finowkanal, there will be long-term restrictions on the waterway. The Schöpfurt Lock is currently closed. The formerly manually operated lock is one of twelve locks on the Finow Canal. Today, it is automated, meaning that it is operated by the waterway users themselves. There are waiting areas for paddle boats and recreational boats in the upper and lower lock areas. The Schöpfurt Lock is located right in the center of Finowfurt. In the immediate vicinity, you will find restaurants, the rafters’ square, and a playground. History: The Schöpfurt lock in its current form was built in 1876 – originally equipped with two lock chambers, one of which was filled in in 1914. It was completely rebuilt in 2006 and automated in 2026. It is located in the center of Finowfurt, in the immediate vicinity of the waterway rest area and the rafters’ landing stage.
