Welcome to the Finow Canal Region

The Finow Canal is not only the oldest navigable artificial waterway in Germany, but also takes you through unspoilt nature and past exciting industrial monuments of the past century! In addition, many land-based experiences await young and old captains alike. Travelling along the Finow canale will delight the whole family.

Some of the historic locks are still operated by hand as they were 400 years ago. You should therefore bring enough time to marvel and enjoy. This unique experience of nature and technology will remain unforgettable for young and old alike!

But even monuments are not immune to the ravages of time. In order to ensure the navigability of the Finow Canal for the future, the locks will undergo major repairs in the coming years. You can find out more about the restrictions under Construction measures.

In the 2024 season, our lock staff will operate the locks on the Finow Canal for you from March 30 to October 27, daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
